Nicholas Dunsby

Founder & Director

Nicholas Dunsby is the Founder and Director of Naval Solutions Ltd, established in 2019 following a distinguished military career. With extensive experience in leadership and engineering roles, Nicholas brings a wealth of knowledge in systems engineering and the delivery of complex, mission-critical solutions across global maritime environments.

A Chartered Engineer with dual British and Australian nationality, Nick has built Naval Solutions Ltd into a respected consultancy known for its technical precision, strategic insight, and commitment to excellence in maritime engineering. His leadership continues to drive the company’s growth and its reputation for delivering high-quality, tailored solutions to clients in both the public and private sectors.

Nicholas is also actively involved in community initiatives, including supporting youth maritime programs such as the Sea Cadets.

Benjamin Ray

Co-Director

Benjamin Ray is Co-Director of Naval Solutions Ltd, joining the leadership team in February 2023 following a distinguished career in maritime and nuclear engineering. His early career included consultancy work with VT Group, followed by service in the Royal Navy as a Nuclear Engineer aboard Trafalgar Class submarines.

Benjamin later spent a decade at Frazer-Nash Consultancy, where he led high-impact projects in maritime safety and engineering. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Operations Management from the University of Nottingham, and brings a wealth of technical and operational expertise to the company.

With a strong focus on innovation and strategic growth, Benjamin plays a key role in shaping Naval Solutions’ future, ensuring the delivery of robust, forward-thinking solutions to clients across the maritime sector.

Timothy Arnold

Technical Safety Consultant

Timothy Arnold is the lead Technical Safety Consultant at Naval Solutions Ltd, with a strong background in risk management and safety engineering across the energy and defence sectors. He brings valuable experience from previous roles at Cairn Risk, Babcock International Group, and Nawah Energy Company, where he specialised in safety case development, hazard analysis, and regulatory compliance.

At Naval Solutions Ltd, Tim plays a key role in delivering robust safety solutions for complex marine and nuclear engineering projects. His analytical approach and deep understanding of technical risk ensure that client operations meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Tim is committed to continuous improvement and innovation in safety engineering, helping clients navigate regulatory landscapes while maintaining operational excellence.

Alan Williams

Commercial Sector Lead

Alan Williams is a key member of the senior leadership team at Naval Solutions Ltd, bringing a wealth of experience from a maritime career spanning over three decades. He began his career as a marine engineering officer with P&O/Princess Cruises before spending 30 years with Lloyd’s Register, working across the UK, Greece, and Asia. Most recently, Alan contributed to the RFA Fleet Solid Support (FSS) programme with Harland & Wolff.

Alan’s expertise includes marine and offshore engineering systems, technical reviews, condition assessments, ship operations, and transformational change. He has led multidisciplinary teams and managed complex projects in dynamic, high-pressure environments. His extensive shipbuilding experience includes 15 years in South Korea and China, overseeing the construction of LNG carriers, tankers, container ships, FPSOs, and FLNG units.

Alan holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from University College London and an MBA from Henley Business School. His strategic insight and hands-on leadership continue to support the delivery of high-quality, client-focused solutions at Naval Solutions Ltd.
